Dehradun, September 16, 2025 — Devastating rainfall driven by cloudbursts and monsoon systems has unleashed flooding, landslides, and infrastructure damage across Uttarakhand, bringing parts of the Himalayan state to a standstill.

Overnight and early-morning downpours triggered a severe cloudburst in Dehradun, particularly around the Sahastradhara and Karligaad rivulet areas. The sudden surge in water levels caused rivulets and rivers to overflow, overwhelming local drainage.

In Rishikesh, the Chandrabhaga River also breached its banks, trapping vehicles and damaging roads.

• Casualties and Missing Persons: At least four people have died in Dehradun following the cloudburst. Several others are missing.
